Offener Kanal Europa meets: Endziel Glückseeligkeit
Constanze Klar, Nora Spiekermann ↓
Europacity, the prime cut in the eyes of real estate investors, has been completely carved up. Every free inch has been paved over, and the properties are sold and rented at exorbitant prices. But how are the people living here doing?
As an artistic initiative, Der Offene Kanal Europa has been instigating discourse and exchange in this new district through various art campaigns since 2020.
"Endziel Glückseligkeit" (Final Destination: Bliss) is an ongoing project by artist Constanze Klar that deals with the absurdity of human existence and is focused on encounters. Following the motto "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak," we will either face reality together or escape it (depending on the situation). The site-specific and stock-related beer and water bar keeps us in good spirits, analyses the current state of affairs and draws people to this still unfamiliar place in Moabit.
The mobile bar will be moving around Otto-Weidt-Platz. Come and find us!

Emotionaler Aufpreis: Lea Weik, Antonio Colli, Dennis Heiler, Insa Yip ↓
The band "Emotionaler Aufpreis" is made up almost entirely of cake, sausage, and intestines. Your hair will stand on end as Winnie the Pooh sweetly whispers melodies into your ear.
This theatrical punk band from Moabit was formed during the collective, non-commercial festival Nimmermeer and features a lineup of drums, electric guitar, vocals and cello. Their music is poetic and tells stories of culinary excess, friendship, and love. For the Ortstermin Moabit, the band has developed a set design made of fabric intestines, fabric sausages, and organic wax sculptures. Guts are turned inside out, representing raw emotion. Flesh as the material humans are made of, flesh as provocation, flesh as a symbol of vulnerability. With their playful style, the band appeals to both young and older audiences.
The performance can take place indoors or outdoors and lasts about 45 minutes. An electrical power source is required.

‘manpurse’ is a 15-minute, 360-degree dance performance exploring the link between objects and gender stereotypes, highlighting the absurdity of societal labelling. The piece challenges these restrictions, emphasising that humans, made of the same flesh and blood, should freely choose the objects that enrich their lives. It raises awareness of the limitations we place on ourselves and others, including judgement, shame and expectations despite living in a system claiming freedom of choice.

The audience is invited to come closer to the tables to examine the compositions and dishes in more detail. After the observation period, each viewer will receive a flower from the bouquets. This is meant to symbolise the unity and interaction between art and everyday life.

↓
In his exhibition, Mikko Kelloniemi faces the "great unknown" - a time saturated by rapid technological development, algorithms, artificial intelligence and overflowing streams of data. We as humans are experiencing a tangible turn in our collective behaviour, a shift towards new cognitive states. How can a tiny individual observe and understand such a change, a significant moment in time while still inside it?
The Empty Green is a multidisciplinary body of work observing humanity inside digital transformation. Studying the often-absurd nature of this ongoing process, this exhibition is a first attempt to more closely examine the complexity of the contemporary self, deconstructing a vast horizon into smaller points of focus.
The exhibition is a multimedia installation composed mainly of photography and video. Looking at the shift happening around us through warm glasses, Mikko Kelloniemi observes his personal and often complex relation to the digital world. The exhibition is a study of the self: identity, memory, self-image and subjectivity. It consists of works from three different series that all provide a different view into the peculiar nature of the modern psyche.

Hair In The Dish is a photographic series depicting a scenario, where food made for usual human consumption is replaced with hair. A structure that consists of keratin, a protein that our digestive system cannot decompose. The series is inspired by trichophobia, the fear of hair. It tells nightmare-like and humorous stories about the symptoms of globus sensation, a scratchy feeling of having hair in the back of your throat, caused by stress and anxiety. The series plays with the idea of this uneasiness, making the daily act of consuming food both odd and impossible to perform. The Hair In The Dish exhibition displays seven self-portrait photographs and an installation that showcases an eerie dining scenario, which consists of colourful bowls and tableware covered in hair.

"The Symphony of Everyday Life"
Everything we hear around us profoundly and often unconsciously influences us. Everything is part of the great environmental sound symphony in which we live and which we shape ourselves—positively or negatively—through our actions and inactions. In the guided "soundwalks," participants explore the sounds of our environment and the intriguing aspects of the everyday things we thought we already knew well. At the same time, sensitivity is developed for the diversity and beauty, but also for the vulnerability of our acoustic environment. The soundwalks take place in principle, in any weather.
